Do Duraflex Body Kits need body work before paint?
All fiberglass based body kits and components need finishing work prior to installation. The surface will always have some imperfections that need to be corrected. Each part has to be sanded and body worked. This is how you achieve paint-able surface.
To fix body kit imperfections block sanding allows for minor flaws in the finish to be highlighted. Additionally any imperfections you find during sanding then get filled using a glazing body filler.
The body filler is used to correct pin holes, low spots and other blemishes to achieve a perfect finish once sanded smooth. Finally you can then proceed to paint after the panel is straight and perfected. Your installer will need to sand every square millimeter in order to get a show quality finish. Your paint work laid down on top so body work must be precise.
In conclusion the better your prep work work is the more superior the final product.
